Wedding and elopement photographer for adventurous couples
“Gem captured our day so beautifully. It felt like hanging out with a friend.”
I’m Gem, founder of Golden Hare Wedding Photography. With over 15 years’ experience as a professional photographer, I work with fun-loving and creative couples across London and the South East to document their totally unique wedding – whether that’s at home or abroad, a big ol’ shindig with all the bells and whistles, or a quiet intimate elopement.
Whether you’re tying the knot at home or abroad, look back on each moment with beautiful, natural, docu-style photography.
Getting away from it all doesn’t mean a compromise on your wedding photos. Let’s capture every detail for you and everyone back home.
As well as being a great experience for you both, pre-wedding engagement shoots are a perfect way for us to get to know each other before the big day.
If your two has become a three (or four, five or more!), I offer fun and unforgettable outdoor family shoots on a local basis.
Let’s create something beautiful…
Alternative, unconventional, “not your average couple”. However you describe yourselves, you’ve probably found me because you want something a little bit different when it comes to your wedding photography.
For me, it’s about catching you at your most natural, as you really are.
I do this by getting to know you beforehand, learning what’s important to you. As well as helping me nail your preferences and expectations, it gives you a chance to get to know me and feel more comfortable ahead of the big day!
Think of me as a fly-on-the-wall at your wedding, mingling with the crowd and catching all those little moments. Those meaningful looks, those head turns, those hand squeezes…all those things which tell the real story of your day.
Whatever it takes to get that perfect shot – climbing trees, lying in the mud – I’ve been known to do it! And believe me, it’s worth it when I hand over your incredible collection of photos, each one as unique as you are.

what to expect
A friendly professional who’ll put you at ease
Ok, I get it – not everyone likes being photographed! That’s why one of my top priorities is to help you feel comfortable when the camera comes out. My friendly and easy-going attitude will help you to relax, and you won’t need to worry about forced grins and awkward poses!
I even offer engagement shoots, which are an excellent way for us to get to know each other ahead of the big day. They’re great at getting you used to being photographed – while also being yourselves.
Someone who’ll cover every important detail, without intruding on your day
It’s not just about the confetti and cake cutting. Every moment of your wedding day is special, from getting ready in the morning to the hazy last dance in the evening. You want a collection of photos that help you relive every aspect of your day, and that’s where I come in.
My photojournalistic approach will document each one of those special moments as I work away unobtrusively in the background. After all, nobody wants to remember the photographer. You want to remember your incredible day.
Someone who won’t make people stand around for ages
We’ve all been at a wedding where we’ve stood around for hours while the photographer calls out names, tells you to stay nearby until it’s your turn, and then has you posing for ages while your heels sink into the mud. And all you really want is another canape and a catch-up with your friends!
That’s not what you want for your wedding, so I won’t let it happen. Instead of making your guests wait around, I’ll be mingling among them, making sure they’re all featured in your final wedding album as they should be – having fun and celebrating your marriage.
A beautiful set of images that capture the real you
One of the best parts of my job is getting back to my desk, copying the card from the camera and reviewing all the photos I’ve taken throughout the day. Natural shots that capture real emotions. A series of images that tell a story. Beautiful settings, colours and light that catch you at your very best.
But my absolute favourite part? Well that’s when I get to hand those photographs over to you, and see you relive the day all over again. These are photos you’ll want up in your house, that you’ll look back on when you’re 83, that you’ll pass down to your children and grandchildren. Let’s give them something special to remember.
