INFORMATION & FAQs
MINI SHOOT SESSION
Before booking, I’m inviting newly engaged couples to join me for a free mini shoot as an opportunity for you and your partner to get used to being in front of the camera before your big day. During the mini shoot we can discuss what your ideal wedding photography would look like and of course, it will give you the chance to see how I work. You’ll receive a selection of the photos after the shoot at no cost.
Dates get booked up quite far in advance so if you’re keen on securing a date it’s best to get in touch asap. If you need to book at short notice it’s worth getting in touch, as I sometimes have openings from date postponements.
To secure your date firstly get in contact with me either through my mobile 07795312195 or email address email@example.com so I can check your date availability.
Once the date is confirmed and the deposit has been taken, I will gather some information about the day from you via an online form. This helps me plan my schedule for the day. I will also send you a standard contract outlining everything you are expecting from me as your photographer.
Where possible – I will visit the wedding venue in order to plan out some of my more creative shots. This also helps me get an idea of the space and lighting.
Around two weeks before the wedding, I will check-in with you to make sure I know about any possible changes in the schedule or plans.
If you are interested in going ahead with a booking, I ask for 30% deposit to secure your date (for whichever package you choose from (this acts as the first instalment)).
Then to spread the cost of the remaining balance, the second payment (35%) is taken six months before the date of the wedding and then the final payment (35%) is taken one month before the wedding.
Payment is taken online via a safe payment platform called Stripe.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE?
I have been a professional photographer for over ten years in both the commercial and wedding industry. I have a BA (Hons) Creative Arts degree from Bath Spa University as well as diploma in Wedding Photograph.
IS TRAVEL INCLUDED?
Travel is included up to two hours from London. If your location is out of this window, I always strive to keep the costs down as much as possible and I’ll give you an estimation of the costs before booking.
DO YOU PROVIDE COLOUR AND BLACK & WHITE IMAGES?
During the edit, I make a choice whether the individual image lends itself better to colour or black & white grading. This is part of the artistic process. That said, I am happy to change the grading on a particular image if you’d prefer.
DO YOU RETOUCH THE IMAGES?
I’d be happy to retouch up to five images free of charge. After that, it’s a £5 per image.
Not all outcomes can be achieved with retouching – but small changes such as removal of a spot can be done quite easily!
ARE YOU INSURED?
Yes, I have Public Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOUR EQUIPMENT BREAKS?
Although my equipment is routinely put in for maintenance – if the worst should happen, I have a photography assistant with me to cover the ceremony (excluding the out of season package). I also bring back-up equipment.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU FALL ILL ON THE DAY?
In the unlikely event that I can’t make it to the shoot due to serious illness or accident – it will be outlined in the pre-signed contract that 100% of your money will be returned. If you haven’t booked a package with a second photographer, as a contingency plan I have a list of trusted photographers to call in-case of an emergency.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY PHOTOS/ALBUM?
After 4-6 weeks I will email you a link to your private online gallery. From there you can download, post and share your images as you please.
If you are having an album – this will allow you to choose your selection. Shortly after this, you’ll be posted a USB containing your high-resolution files (for printing).
HOW MANY IMAGES WILL I RECEIVE?
This can vary from wedding to wedding and can also depend on how long I’m there on the day. As a general guide, 7-8 hours of photography would usually equal around 500-700 final images.
DO YOU TAKE GROUP SHOTS?
I’m happy to take a selection of traditional family shots. Ultimately it will be up to you to decide on how much time is spent on your group and family shots.
WHAT IS YOUR 'STYLE'?
My style is mainly documentary/journalistic with modern editorial grading, but this usually depends on the personality of my clients. During our pre-wedding consultation, we can talk about which styles you prefer.
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
I am very loyal to Canon! My prize camera is my 1DX DSLR model. I have a range of different lenses from prime to telephoto, to make sure I have the range to capture everything I need. I also use a flash from time to time and reflectors for making the most of the natural light.
My camera has two card slots, for if one fails or gets filled up.
I also bring a second camera with me on the day to allow me to switch between lenses quickly.
DO I HAVE TO POSE?
Personally, I’m not a fan of too much posing, and I avoid asking you to pose unless we are capturing a very specific shot. I believe the best images are the natural ones!
WHO OWNS THE COPYRIGHT TO THE IMAGES?
Although the copyright Designs and Patents Acts assign the copyright of the images to Golden Hare Wedding Photography, you are free to print and digitally share the images as you please.
HOW DO I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?
Depending on what package you choose – you will receive hi-res (larger sizes for printing) and web ready files (for sharing and uploading online). These will be shared with you via an online gallery.
WHAT ELSE DO YOU OFFER?
I also offer a polaroid service for £50 for the couple shots. This will give you 20 polaroid images from a vintage model camera. Please note that extra time will need to be allowed for this.
